The Little Colonel (Shirley Temple)

Synopsis

The most famous child star of all time and "box office champion" of the mid-30s, Shirley Temple delighted generations of young girls with her cheerful demeanor, golden curls and acting, singing and dancing talent.

In The Little Colonel (1935) in post-Civil War South of America, Elizabeth Lloyd (Evelyn Venable) marries a Yankee. In response, her stern confederate father (Lionel Barrymore) vows never to speak to her again. That is, until a few years later when Elizabeth's adorable daughter (Shirley Temple) charms the grumpy old man!
