While Gene Morrison's band (the Glenn Miller Band) is on tour, trumpet player Bill Abbot (George Montgomery) falls for a girl in the audience, Connie Ward (Ann Rutherford). When they elope, no one's more surprised than Abbot's girlfriend, Jaynie Stevens (Lynn Bari). As the musicians blow hot on the bandstand, their wives are engulfed in enough flammable jealousy and dirty tricks to break up the band. now, Connie must prove her love for Bill, as well as try to get the band back together.
