“A gloriously playful homage to Dennis Potter ****" - Total Film “Resnais’ most whimsical and charming film for ages” - Empire “Two hours of delight” - The Times
First came PENNIES FROM HEAVEN.
Then THE SINGING DETECTIVE.
Next was LIPSTICK ON YOUR COLLAR.
And now there's SAME OLD SONG, a delightful musical tribute to Dennis Potter from acclaimed French director Alain Resnais...
Adventurous Camille and married Odile are sisters living in Paris. Through her part-time job as a tour guide Camille meets Simon, a radio playwright, who by pure coincidence works for the estate agent from whom Odile is buying her dream apartment.
It's when Simon's boss, Marc, sees Camille and falls hopelessly in love and Odile's ex-boyfriend Nicolas suddenly turns up that affairs for the sisters get hilariously complicated.
From the ballads of Edith Piaf to the pop songs of Jane Birkin, this happy-go-lucky, tongue-in-cheek, sing-along comedy of manners proves there's an appropriate song for every situation in life.
