Miral
Out Now
Synopsis
The true story of Hind Husseini's effort to establish the Dar
Al-Tifel institute and orphanage in Jerusalem after the 1948
partition of Palestine and creation of the state of Israel.
Following the death of her mother, Miral (Freida Pinto, Slumdog
Millionaire) is sent to the institute, and is shielded from the
troubles of the outside world as she grows up within its walls.
However when she is assigned to teach at a refugee camp Miral is
quickly awakened to the reality of her people's struggle. When she
falls for political activist, Hani, Miral finds herself torn
between the fight for the future of her people and Mama Hinds'
belief that education is the road to peace.
